So what is podiatry?

Podiatry is a specialist allied health service which aims to assess, diagnose and treat conditions affecting the lower limb and foot.

People often ask “what is the difference between chiropody and podiatry?” well the simple answer is none. ‘Podiatry’ is the international term for chiropody and clinicians are aiming to use this term to add some clarity to the profession.

Who are we?

First Foot Clinic Ltd is a family run business offering high quality podiatric care. The aim of the clinic is to provide a professional, friendly and caring approach to your individual needs.

The podiatrist, Karen Burrett (BSc Podiatry), qualified from the University of Brighton and has worked locally in private practice since 2008. Karen is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (registration number 31014). Karen is also a practicing member of and fully insured with College of Podiatry (registration number 28762).

Karen is proactive in foot health education and has given numerous talks in schools on the subject. This ethos extends into her clinical practice with the intention of encouraging prevention over cure.

Karen’s husband, Martin, has worked in the retail and customer service environment for the past 35 years and brings the experience gained in various management positions to the clinic. Martin will be on hand at reception to help answer any questions you may have, take appointment bookings and offer you a tea or coffee!
